Once you’ve been accepted
Welcome! After you have made contact with a recruiter and your application has been accepted, you will need to install our mod pack and join our communication channels. After that, meet with a BCT instructor to schedule BCT Bronze training. This must be completed before participating in an official operation. Please contact your recruiter if you have any questions along the way!
1) Install the following software
- A legal copy of ARMA 3
- Teamspeak 3 –Â soargaming.teamspeak3.com

- Arma3Sync
2) Mod Installation & Connecting to the Server
Follow the Mod Installation Guide to install our mod pack.
To join our server, launch Arma and navigate to “Direct Connect” in the multiplayer server browser. The IP address and password can be found in the TaskForceRadio channel description on our Teamspeak server.
Please ensure that you are able to connect to the server before contacting an instructor for bronze training. If you need help, feel free to use the technical support channel on our discord server!
3) Rifleman Bronze Training
Contact your recruiter and find a mutual time to meet on the server to complete our bronze rifleman training. This is a short (15-30 minute) crash course designed to teach you the essentials of playing Arma with our mod pack. You will learn about ACE, arsenals, base scripts, radios, and miscellaneous tips and tricks that will make your life easier! Once you have completed this training, you may participate in our official operations! You can request this training via our discord server.
Operating as a Recruit
1) Read our Documentation
We have a large database that covers nearly every aspect of Arma and SOAR, including rules, expectations, guides, tutorials, and tips. At the very least, you are expected to read and be familiar with our rules and procedures, but you are encouraged to read as much as possible! This is a great place to discover your interests as you move forward in SOAR.
2) Your First Official Operation
You should have read the mission dossier on the subreddit and be in the “Awaiting Role Assignment” channel in Teamspeak by 6:45EST. A senior rifleman will be assigned as your “buddy”. They will help you through the entire process of playing in an official operation. They will make sure you have the correct kit and radio channel and will stick with you in the field. You are encouraged to ask this person any questions that arise throughout the operation!
3) Roles
Until BCT Silver, you will only be able to play as a rifleman. In silver training, we teach how to safely and effectively play basic infantry roles (Autorifleman, grenadier LAT, etc). Once completing this training, you will be able to play those roles at the team leader’s discretion.
4) Becoming a Full Member
After completing gold training you will no longer be a recruit and will be able to train in advanced roles. You can read more about advanced roles here:

- By default, you will now use 2x G for basic throw and Shift+G for advanced throw (ACE).
